Roger's Favorite Charities
Roger Tilton is a graduate from Georgetown University Business School in 1973 and Georgetown Law School in 1976. He has been in property management since 1983. During this time he has managed some of our larger properties and handled some of our more difficult projects. With his education and experience in the areas of business, law, and real estate, he currently assists in overseeing the larger renovation projects undertaken by our communities. Mr. Tilton is a licensed real estate broker and attorney in the District of Columbia.
A graduate of George Washington University, Richard Bernstein has been a property manager since 1990 and Vice President with Tilton Bernstein Management, Inc. and is a licensed real estate agent. During that time he has developed a specialty in working with new associations during the transition period from their developer to becoming a self-sufficient association. His experiences with many different types of Boards of Directors, association residents and their various personalities has allowed him to develop a reputation for reasonableness and fairness when dealing with the multitude of issues which associations will face. Richard is a resident of Northwest DC and currently manages many associations in Dupont Circle, Logan Circle and Kalorama.
Andrew is a native of New Jersey—born, raised and educated. Moving to D.C. in 2001, he began working for a non-profit organization downtown. In 2006, he decided to make a career switch to practice D.C. real estate. Andrew joined Tilton Bernstein in June, 2007. He works closely with Richard Bernstein and all property managers on rental, condominium, and cooperative matters. Daily, Andrew communicates with tenants, home owners and the public about the many issues involving TBM properties. Active in all areas of real estate, Mr. Baluha is also a licensed real estate agent.
After several years managing commercial facilities, including public schools, universities, and health clubs, Phil Dunn joined the Tilton Bernstein team in January of 2007 to manage residential property. In his previous positions, Phil has successfully dealt with diverse committees and Boards of Directors with different agendas. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's Degree from Robert Morris University. Phil is a licensed real estate agent and resides in the District.
Andrew Jones is the newest addition to the Tilton Bernstein Management staff. He was a Political Science and Economics double major at University of Maryland, College Park, and also attended Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota majoring in Political Science and French. He is a native of Annapolis, Maryland, the sailing capital of the United States, as well as the capital of Maryland. From 1999–2000, he was an intern for the Office of the Governor under Governor Parris Glendening, and has done extensive work with the Central Maryland Chapter of the Red Cross. Andrew is currently a resident of the District of Columbia and resides in Adams Morgan.
Randy Nolan has lived in DC and the surrounding metropolitan area for over 15 years. He received his bachelors degree in marketing at George Mason University. He has past work experience in the mortgage loan industry working as a contracted project manager at Fannie Mae and as an investor relations coordinator at Mortgage Banking Systems. He has developed exceptional project management knowledge and customer service skills. He takes great pride in his work and strives to provide exemplary service to the condo associations he manages.
Michael Sims has been a resident of DC since 2005. Moving here from West Virignia, he has expereince in banking, office managment and bookkeeping. After almost two years with a non-profit in the DC area, he came to Tilton Bernstein to help facilitate and manage the smooth operation of all general office functions as well as to assist with accounting and rental functions as asked. Michael is also a student nearing completion of his BA in Business Administration in management and will continue on working toward a Masters.
Although being born in the US, Cheng was raised in Zimbabwe and moved back to the US at 16. He completed his bachelors degree in International Business at Kean University in New Jersey and went on to work for a transportation brokerage company in Boston. It was there where he developed his exceptional sales and customer service skills which he now brings to TBM along with a positive attitude and a strong desire to meet the needs of the client. Cheng is also a licensed real estate agent and resides in Maryland.
Ivy Smith is the newest member to our accounting team. She was born in Michigan and raised in Washington, DC. Ivy attended Prince Georges Community College. Later she began employment at Recording Industry Association of America where she was responsible for the collection and distribution of royalties for recording artist worldwide. Ivy brings with her dedication, strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Linda received her Masters degree from the University of Maryland in 1995. Linda has been employed as a consultant to Tilton Bernstein Management since 1997 and in October of 2003 accepted the position of Director of Accounting. She brings over 20 years of accounting experience specializing in audits and dispute resolution. Linda manages the finances of the larger properties as well as oversees all the accounting functions within the department.
Amy Whittington is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelors degree in Theatre. After spending many years in the Washington, D.C. theatre scene she transferred her organizational skills and attention to detail first to the legal world and corporate event planning and finally to the property management field. Before beginning her career at TBM in February 2006, she was the accounts payable assistant for PineRock, Inc. in Dupont Circle.
